GAMERS AND CONSUMERS, TOGETHER
Your hobby.
Your choices.
Your voice.
DISCOWNED is a place for gamers, creators and consumers to come together: enjoy the hobby, learn from each other and understand the dangers of where the industry is heading.
Enjoy it. Learn about it. Talk about it.
Share the games you play, the music you listen to and the movies you watch. Find a mod, ask a question, compare experiences or write a review. A shared hobby is richer when people can learn from one another and disagree without being pushed out.
Understand the risks behind the purchase.
We want consumers to recognize how changing licences, subscriptions, always-online requirements, storefront delistings and service shutdowns can affect the things they buy. Learn what depends on an account or a server, what can disappear and what choices remain in your hands.
Share sources, explain your experiences and question industry decisions. Praise products that serve their audience; criticize practices that weaken ownership, preservation, repair or consumer choice. Our goal is an informed community with a voice, not a demand that every member agree.
Creative freedom. Player choice.
We will not remove mods simply because they are controversial, irreverent or unpopular. A joke, viewpoint or creative choice does not need an ideological approval stamp to belong here.
Mags “Beep Bop” Carter is welcome here. People who dislike a mod can choose not to install it. Dislike, offence or a pile of reports is not, by itself, a reason to take someone’s work down.
Reports must identify a breach of our published rules. The IP-rights declaration is optional when uploading or publishing a mod. Required antivirus checks and rules against illegal material, threats and harassment still apply. Those requirements protect the community while keeping its creative choices open.
CSAM and sexual exploitation of minors are prohibited everywhere on DISCOWNED. Read our child-safety rules →
Why DISCOWNED?
You bought it. What do you own?
The name puts a physical disc beside the word “owned” and invites you to hear “disowned.” It asks what happens when the things you buy remain dependent on somebody else’s permission.
We advocate clearer digital rights, continued access, lawful preservation, repair and modding. These are the reforms we advocate. A DISCOWNED profile or game shelf records a collection; it does not change a publisher’s licence or guarantee that a game will remain playable.
A community shaped by its members.
The homepage is your feed: followed creators, fresh discoveries and trending posts. Reviews and discussions have their own space for games, music and movies. Your shelf has visibility controls and an export, and optional provider imports show their sources.
Core participation is free. Proposed supporter plans will not buy a higher organic feed ranking. Bring your curiosity, your creations and your own point of view.
